　　appear主要用作动词，既可以用作及物动词，也可以用作不及物动词，基本意思是“出现；出版；显得；好像；登场”。在用法上要注意的是，在以动词不定式或that从句作主语时，一般须以it作形式主语，放在句首，而将该动词不定式或that从句置于appear之后。
